About Memaw

Meet Memaw
In the south, a grandmother is sometimes called Memaw. Memaws are more than just grandmothers. They help anyone, including the next generation, navigate through life with strength, endearment, wisdom, tradition, common sense, and storytelling. Memaw uses experience, education, wisdom, research, and love of learning in helping you lead a life you envision for yourself. Life Lessons From Memaw will use storytelling, humor, and unconditional love to share valuable life insights on this journey of growth.
My memaw was born in 1918 and died in 1987. She lived through the Great Depression with her parents and 2 siblings. She was married to a WWII tailgun fighter that earned a Purple Heart. They adopted a newborn who became my father. She lived on a farm and grew corn, pigs, cows, horses, chickens, and goats. She was a quiet person, who had to rely on her great inner strength. She was patience, kind-hearted, caring, and very wise.
